The Red Bull Music Academy is a world-travelling series of music workshops and festivals where a group of producers, vocalists, DJs, instrumentalists and all-round musical mavericks from around the world come together for two weeks worth of recording sessions, lectures by musical luminaries and performances. If you can imagine a place that’s equal parts science lab, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon and Kraftwerk’s home studio, you’re halfway there. In 2015, we’ll be setting up shop in Paris. Unfortunately applications are now closed for Paris but , next year will be another oppertunity to get into this awesome experience.
At RBMA participants are left to their own devices in ridiculously well-equipped studios, and allowed the creative freedom to take whatever crackpot audio journeys their sleep-deprived minds decide to take them on. Lectures from world renowned artists and musicians take place alongside a program of cutting edge music events, gigs and parties. RBMA is not the Brit school. No polished chrome-pop chart-bait here.
The application period for the 2015 Academy will be from Jan 14th – March 4th. We’ll be letting you know exactly how YOU can apply to take part in next year’s academy very soon (YES, YOU.)
